When I got my '62 Valiant I picked up a '60-'61 FSM, thinking it would be adequate, but the more I repaired the car the more I realized the '60-'61 FSM lacked a lot of information. My impression is that the factory didn't have enough time to prepare a really good service manual for the '60-'61 cars, but they remedied that situation with the '62 manual. I recently picked up a '62 FSM, and it contains a lot more information than the '60-'61 manual did. If you have a '62 Valiant, I really recommend that you get one.

Problem is the 60-61 cars are quite a bit different from the 62. But I agree, you can never have too much information!

yes, that 62 manual tells you the tap size to remove the lca bushing shell. i still use it -- more info than some of the later years ,Lawrence

After looking it over more carefully, I think they included a lot of information in the '62 Valiant FSM that really should only have appeared in the '62 Dart manual instead.

For example, they cover the 318 and 361 V8s, which weren't offered in the Valiant but were in the Dart. They also cover the 8-3/4" rear axle, which wasn't offered in the Valiant, as well as the Stromberg model WW and Carter AFB carburetors. The irrelevant material pertaining to the Dart seems to comprise a large portion of the extra page count, as compared to the '60-'61 Valiant manual.

Apparently it is a combined Plymouth and Valiant FSM. I didn't realize that at first.

It has no index, and it is really hard to find what you're looking for.
