It's legal to run these in NC, but you must have the reg tag in carView attachment 1714652759
Texas allows you to run original or restored tags. They must be a matching set of 2 in good condition, same colors as the year issued if you are restoring a set, plus the year stamped on the set of tags must be the same year as the car you are putting them on.
I have a matching pair of 1967 texas passenger car plates. I media blasted them , primered and wet sanded them before applying bright white to them. I still have to paint the black for all the letters and numbers.
The state needs to see them before they will issue them. A friend of mine restored a set of 1963 truck tags for his 1963 dodge town panel. State looked at them and said no problem.
