Coffee...

There's a Cumberland Farms nearby...I drink their dark roast every morning. It's not bad. (I like REALLY strong coffee.)

Believe it or not, I've become attached to walmart dark roast.

It's a very tasty blend, and cheap as hell.

I used to be a flavored creamer afficinado before being diagnosed with diabetes.
That pretty much killed the cream thing, but it turned me on to "the flavor of the bean", and after several years of experimenting with everything from $2 to $42 a pound, I've settled on f'n walmart!!

(although sometimes I do spike it 7:1 with a scoop of espresso)

I just don't get the duncan thing, It's good, but it's not 2x or 3x the price good.

I've had some good stuff at starbucks/barnies too, but certainly not 8x the price good.

I don't get the k cup thing either. It's not really that much faster than 4 or even 6 cups in a mr coffee, and the price per cup is outrageous, after the $100 machine, not to mention a boat load of consumables, most of which end up packed into the earth.

...and was you name "Rob" before that corrective surgery? :poke:

No it was Roberta. Maybe you knew me.

I love the instant coffee from Walmart ,its fast in the morning, cheap and once you get used to it ,tastes pretty damn good. Can not stand Starbucks, even the mild tastes way too strong for me, I have been drinking coffee for about 40 years now and can honestly say that I have not missed a day without it.
It completes me !!!

it may sound strange but the main reason I don't drink coffee is because when I was a kid my parents used to tell me to not drink coffee because it would stunt my growth.....I was paranoid about not growing because I was always a small kid and even now im 4'10" but they said after im fully grown and an adult, only then I can drink coffee.

I have no idea why they told me that when I don't think there is any scientific findings about growth being related to coffee.

well now that I am technically a grown in a legal sense ...I still don't really see myself as an adult ...so im kinda still waiting to grow up to drink coffee.

I do like the smell, but I don't like the taste, the few times I have tried it. And the coffee I did try ....I don't know what kind it was ...I think there are different kinds ....don't know about all that.

Hi, My name is RedFish and I'm a java junkie. I'm currently held in a rehab facility. Place is called Maxwell House. My older boy Folger came to visit today but twins ) Case and Sanborn ) don't come around often. LOL
Seriously.. I like DD too. I like the fresh ground beans best. Seattle Select ( if thats right ) is tasty too.

Maxwell House Master Blend. Two creams, one sugar.

I used to like Dunkin' Donuts. The one across the street from Strong Memorial killed it for me last August/September. Damned coffee was bitter, never smooth, tasted like it had been on the burner for hours. The Tim Horton's up the street was the same way. I got better coffee from the hospital cafeteria. That should tell you something.

Lame. I think that's what turned me off of coffee pots, in general.

Yeah, Folgers tastes like dirt, to me. Possibly for the same reason; burnt from time to time. Cannot handle even the smell of the container being opened. That stuff is unmistakable.

7-11 is hard to beat, if you're buying it out and about. Dazbog is ok in a pinch, but there are better brews.

I'm doing a life sentence, myself.

Waffle House coffee is kick *** when it's fresh.

I love DD coffee Starbucks I had to lick the cats *** to get to taste out of my mouth and K-cups the way I pound down coffee is way to much money.

Coffee , ah... dark roast Columbian or what ever is in the pot where I am at and I am good after 2 ta 3 cup's .. then water till lunch.. I have never had a fancy brew, heck get the percolator out or a whistling tea pot for an instant coffee :D

I have the Keurig and enjoy the Donut house coffee.

For a treat i get a Tim Horton's coffee when i am near one (11 miles away)

The local hot spot has Vanhoutte coffee (family run store in hometown)

Never drank it. Like the smell of fresh coffee but just never started, I guess just didn't need it to wake up. Started drinking ice water just so I wouldn't drink mt. Dew, or coke or Pepsi first thing in the morning. It's funny because everyone else in my family bows to the dark master.

Also I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned a purcolator, it would go along with an A-body.

I did mentioned a purcolator :hello2:

Just like beer, I prefer darker brews. Today it is Folgers 'Gormet' dark, but thats just cause it was on sale at Giant. Not stuck on any brand. Again comparing to beer, I rarely get the same twice in a row... Usually drink it black, but will sometimes add flavored creamers on the second cup.

My neighbor and I have our own brand. "Island Goat" We have 2 blends, original and St.John's blend. St.John's is my favorite. It is a medium roast with hints of carmel and rum. I sell it on my tool truck and to friends and relatives. We have a neighbor that owns a coffee shop and does the roasting and blending for us. The goat logo started out as a tatoo on my neighbors back.

I'm an retired furnace operator. so anything cold was BAD for me when I was working, Cold stuff messed with me in the hot rooms. Heck I wore a flannel shirt in the summer running the furnace which averaged a summer time temp of around 118-125 (dry heat)and was even heavier dressed in the winter. The factory discouraged cold drinks in the furnace rooms saying that it caused problems. I watched guys sweat and pass out after drinking a cold coke and hit the furnace area. plus the coffee/hot chocolate was Free (vending machine) permanently set for free right outside the main lunchroom.

I drank any and all kinds of coffee from vending machines to hi Dollar stores. my favorite "8 O-clock",followed by Folgers dark, Dunkin (only if I'm near a DD shop, but it was an extra large to last until break time cause buying it by the pound was too expensive and I didn't want to spend that much on coffee) and lastly tim hortons breakfast or light blend(the others are too bitter for me). Starbucks are a last resort option ,they are just nasty tasting to me.I'd rather swill a gallon of OLD run off spills from a vending machine instead of 1 sip of starbucks But I guess if you load it enough with 40 or so flavors you can maybe drink it. I have drunk coffee for about 28 years in the plant I am sort of stuck on coffee even in hot weather.

Has anyone besides me noticed that much "restaurant" coffee nowadays if just awful?

I don't drink much coffee, anymore. Rare outings with friends, cold wet days, or "if I need a lift."
