Im moving from Unity, SK to Kindersley, SK. Approx 1 hour south of where Im at. I have accepted a job at the water treatment plant in Kindersley. Fulltime water treatment, 8 hours a day. I liked the job and people I worked with in Unity, but there wasnt enough water treatment for me, plus the technology at the Kindersley plant is light years beyond what Unity uses(PLC, SCADA, fulltime computer monitoring) and they treat approx 900,000 gallons a day. In Unity its approx 200,000 gallon a day. Level 2 plant.

Oh, I went and wrote my level 1 exams last week, so Im waiting (4-6 weeks) to get my results back.

Looking fwd to the new challenge and a larger population base.

Cheers

Congrats Steve!

Good luck my friend.

Good luck.

Thanks guys, as I mentioned I work with a good bunch, but it wasnt structured enough for my liking and the technology at my new employment is up to date and what I need for me to progress with my career. Although it isnt back home, its only an hour from where I am now. Plus Old Kimmer is in town

Water treatment? So yer gonna be the dodo remover. Congrats!

That's great Steve. It's nice you found a good challenging job so close. Your initial move was pretty big and i'd hate for you to have to go thru that again.

LOL, ya but for drinking water. Kindersley has a "blended" supply, which is a mix of ground AND surface water.

Thanks Rick, the initial move was big, 2000 miles. But im finally getting the experience which will get my arse back to Ontario. That is the next move.

Thanks guys

It can be, in the long run. Sarah was a traveling therapist when we first got married. She was six months in Maine, six weeks in Boston, two years in Buffalo (coming home on weekends and school breaks). She paid her dues, gained experience, and was able to land a damned good job just a mile from home.

Congrats on the move up, Steve. Hang in there. It gets better.

Congratulations on your career enhancing move! Hope it gives you everything you wish!

Wow Steve, not only is that good news, but I see that your qualities as a great role model and father figure are on display here as well!! When a man has to do what it takes to provide for his family, even under less than ideal circumstances, its shows a lot of character and will provide untold dividends now, and later as well!!

I applaud you for working so hard, and it hasn't gone unnoticed here and on the home front also!! Congrats on the new position, and for being another modern day hero for the everyday man!! Good luck and hope the job, and that porch thinger for Kimmer keep your mind at ease!! Geof

Congrats on the new job. It really sounds like it's the real ****...

Geez Robert that must have been trying as heck on the pair of you! I hope I can have a fraction of the strength you have.

Wow Geof, thanks for the kind words! You should be a motivational speaker!! I know I can come across as a sarcastic wise-*** most of the time...not just here, but at home too, just ask the rest of my family!! LOL But Dad taught me to TRY to do the right thing, didnt always work that way, but I have always had morals and values and tried to instill that in our kids. Its a test and Lori and I have passed it so far. Thanks for the modern technology(cell phones, Skype etc) or it may have been unbearable!

Thanks again everyone, it helps and means a lot!

Steve
