hey guys. i have a 67 dart with a 68 k-member. car is big block with 73+ a body disc conversion. I have less then 1k miles on the car and my brand new idler arm is ****. it has a ton of play in it. the play is in the body of the arm. where the mounting bolt passes thru. I have read that the newer arms are built with plastic internals and the headers melt them? I will be pulling mine soon. anyone ever take one apart and looked at what going on inside? why couldn't i gut the housing and have the housing machined to install a bearing on top and bottom? then the correct spacers needed to put it in stock location in the k-member?

I don't know the year unless it is contained in the link I posted for you. As far as I know that is the only one that has been cut apart and posted on this site.

EDIT: Link said 1973. The picture only shows the knuckle end.

cant you add the tab to the 67 K member to use the 68-up idler arm?
I thought I saw that done before.

i have seen guys just cut the mount off the 68+ and reweld it on the 67. im not sure if the 67 mount would work with the 68 arm. the location might be different.

Youngun, with some of the work I've seen you do, I don't doubt you could do this, and you might even make a few and sell em!!!!
