Funky, go for it been looking for a good one for years

Here is a 76 I am thinking of picking up. The guy wants $1,000 for it and it has a rebuilt engine and trans, new radiator, alternator, starter, battery, and brakes.

LOL.Naw ocdart,I was cleaning it.Went off in my hand.Lol,she did have a little help on my end.
I'm glad to see how many people are into these vans. That's awesome.I've always had a soft spot for them. You just never really hear anyone talking about them.Does anyone know if these vans came with a fender tag or anything that can be decoded?I'm curious what all options and things you could get with them.Did they ever build a "muscle van"?Like an E58 or special built performance type vehicle?Kind of makes me wonder if any of them ever came with a package like the Lil Red trucks.

My 89 Dodge conversion van has a fender tag behind the battery, I feel like it was on the firewall but it could have actually been on the fender well.

Now days you rarely see any custom vans show up at car shows, and it's a shame.

They've always been cool and you rarely see one attend a show.

This was one of the biggest deciding factors on my friend's decision to buy the van he did this summer.

Street Vans were wicked to start with for a custom. I love the badging on them.

There is one up here that runs blinding fast at Bandimere.

The gold Cragars. I wish I could see more period correct wheels that were off beat like that, back on custom cars being done up, today. Keystones would be choice.

When I went through my (get ready for it) late-ex-step-great-uncle's jazz record and blue note vinyl collection, I found a box full of van magazines. I still have them.

Some of the ones that were more memorable, off the top of my head, were

The Denimachine...

The TransAmVan...

and my personal favorite

The Nebula...

'70 Charger bumper/ grille graft in. **** is from outer space.

All of these had full magazine articles ran on them. The Nebula was recently sold in it's preserved state. I wish I would have known.

Magazine lines to look for;

Custom Van Magazine
rv Van World Magazine
Hot Rod Magazine Vans editions
Car Craft Magazine Vans editions

There's no telling what a paint job like that would cost you today! That van does look cool.If that took 8th place in it's division,I'd really like to see the other 7.

My all-original '77 B200 camper conversion. The van life is great. Go for it!

but that's a chivvvyyyy !!!! :protest:

hey ...I just realized your in Springs ....

did you see this Dodge in Pueblo

http://pueblo.craigslist.org/cto/4006916954.html

I have not seen the inside ...but I have seen it from the street and it looks pretty nice .....but im short on bread so I have to pass

Guy down the road from where I grew up had a van very similar to this, except for it had orange paint. It had a dual exhaust under with glass packs. He pulled the glass packs off of it and put a set of Harley Davidson fish tail pipes on the end of the tail pipes. Beyond obnoxious sounding.

You gotta look up "action figure therapy" on youtube. Type "stolen wet dream on wheels" super funny...will motivate you for a custom tradesman.

i always wanted a short street van. thought it would be cool..

theres a van club alive and well around here. one or two would show up every year at a mopar show i helped out with..

Yeah i saw that one too. Slant six three on the tree, would make a great parts runner for you. You gonna make it up to the pig roast in a couple or three weeks?

Way cool! Love the idea!

I always thought it would be cool as hell to have something like this to haul around the racecar with, I just can't get the wife on board.

Tell her your going to trick it out like a studio apartment on the inside, that way you can appeal to her gotta save money side.

I steered/drove one of these on my dad's lap as a 7(maybe younger?) year old/kid.

I think the family figured out that I would shut up if I steered the car. Mom HATED it, but she wasn't always around. I don't understand how driving is a pleasant/easy focus when I have ADHD real bad. Between driving grandpa's groovy dodge van and playing with hotwheels/fast ones/matchbox cars, I was doomed to be a motor head.

These vans bring back long lost memories.

I cannot forget that van. I always wanted to climb up the rear ladder whenever I saw it.
