Dual exhaust HP increase?

Hey all, I'm very new to the Mopar scene (and the car scene in general).
I recently purchased a 1968 valiant with a slant 6 in it and am wondering if dual headers would be a recommended route to take? About how much extra HP would I receive and do you guys recommend a certain set that I should grab if I do?

with an all stock setup, all you really need to do is up-size your exhaust from the 1 7/8" pipe to a 2 1/4" pipe from the manifold back. don't know about HP number gains but you should feel the difference.
 
You could do what I did and run a bunch of fairly capable perfomance equipment on a bottom end that just can't do it for you, then later you can drop a built engine it and use all the stuff you already bought in advance.
Kinda backwards from how most do I guess.
 
Yeah. It's a 4 door and I kinda want to keep the slant and use it as my daily/ learn on then get another A body two door to build up.
 
you could look for a super six intake and carb set up. you could take the head off and have it milled to get some compression in it. a good valve job and have the head rebuilt. throw a cam in it and new valve springs along with a header. that i bet would net an easy 50-75hp. I bet you could shop wisely and do the whole deal for less than $1000. you would most definitely feel the difference.
 
If exhaust is all you are going to do, just upgrade the size of the pipe as mentioned. you will not notice much a difference in power unless you do several thing together.
 
Yeah I'd want to do several things over time. Just, as always, strapped for cash.

I did that on my Lancer wagon and it made a big differance
 
does anyone know if anybody sells bolt on dual ehxaust for slant 6. Im going to put headers on my 67 Cuda FB slant 6. havent decided on headers though if anyone can help out that would be great.
 
a few companies ... search google for clifford performace, aussiespeed, doug dutra. you can also pick up headers from summitracing. all have different pros/cons. check out slantsix.org as well
