Does anyone know where I could get a diagram of the front end suspension on a 68 Plymouth Valiant? I need it to see what bushings I have that are in need of replacement. There is a rod that goes from the front frame to the suspension that has a bushing right below the power steering pump. The bushing is gone because the PS fluid had leaked at one time from the pump front seal.

Do you have a factory service manual for your car? There are a bunch of pictures in it.

There are some links in this site where you can download manuals for free.

So the bars I am referring to are called strut rods?

Do yourself (and us!!!!) a huge favor and download a FACTORY service manual

Here's the updated page:

Some of the links in the thread that were posted by Oklacarcollecto are out of date

I think the closest one is for 69 but no difference in 68

If your front suspension has not been touched in the last 20 years, you should just replace "everything"

Here's some good tech on part no's

Thanks Del, I couldn't find that link. I didn't look in the Mopar General Discussions forum. I would thought it would have been in some tech forum.

Factory service manuals aren't always the answer to what you're looking for. If i had the micro-fish they used to have from the service and parts department for Mopar products, then we wouldn't have to ask questions. Some of you guys have been doing this for years and know the answers right off the bat. I'd rather asked first than try figuring something out on my own and getting it wrong.

I don't readily know anyone that has the micro-fish set anymore. You can get a parts book since that is what the micro-fish was made off of. There is also so parts book CD around too.

You can download some of the parts books at "MyMopar"

The service manuals and/or microfilms I might have here... Wouldn't help you at all.
I think everyone who replied did their best to help you. Good luck
