who is into Nascar

QUOTE=RaniDart70;1970142471]ok .....lets take it easy guys ....you never really know what to expect when you start a thread but personally I thought there would be more fans and they would tell me what to look for and more to understand the sport better.

we obviously have differing opinions here but that's no need to get upset ....we are still FABO family and here to help each other.[/QUOTE]

I can and do give everyone there opinion ....
Like any motor sport I know theese car do not drive there self and none of these cars hit the track ready to go...Each team sets there car up for each track and have an alloyed amount of tires they can use at each track and it is up to the
how the crew chef of each team :thumblef: some teams set there car up to save tires and gas, use a deferent gear (depending on what track they are at) usually pick from 2 gear sets... They all have to use the same tire, but they pick how to set the car up, long run cars will be set up loose and with less down force and some teams use deferent cam shafts to get horse power to get off the corner power just like a drag racer wants to, but some cam shafts will use to much gas or deliver to much aggressive throttle response when matted, unlike drag racing they can set a clutch pack up .
Wrong cam and compression the car will not make it threw the hole race and go bomb :D The crew chef and the driver talks to each other while they are racing or practice and even qualifying to see who starts up front .
Who ever is the fastest in qualifying they start up front and get to pick where the pit is, the first pit or last pit stall is best so entering and exiting after the pit crew fills the race car with gas and replace new tires as they chose adjust the car and do it in about 14 seconds
When picking a driver/car to win most races they have to have a fast talented tuff smart pit crew and crew chef :thumblef:
All these cars have to pass safety inspection and body height and arrow so no one will cheat, Jimmy Johnson was caught last year after a race having a different front pillar shape that helped him with speed, thus why they look the same in some area's, They are not the same in most areas, the Fords have there front nose and rear cap so to say they are the same is bs, they build there own engines or have there pick of who douse if they don't do them there self..
Now to the drivers, there is some that can give good info to there crew chef and the crew chef will know what to do to the car when it pit's, some drivers get out of control and complain about things and not give feed back to make the car better threw out a race, heck some races they will pit up to 5 times and more depending on how many yellow flags are thrown because of trash on the track or a wreck. Toyota blew up a bunch of engines because they was trying to make to much HP earlier this season.
The drivers have there hands full and are in great shape, no I would not say these cars drive there self and never will...I like watching these teams work together, and when they go to a road coarse (I believe 2 races) they have to change where the gas is put in the car because when they pit the passenger side is used unlike the rest of the tracks where they fuel the car on the drivers side.
Managing your driver and watching where he is at and who is racing him is a big help, some folk like Mark Martin will hold his line and not block a faster car becouse he stays cool and know if he don't get out of the way he will get moved out of the way buy the faster car at the time, that is where the spotter comes in and radios him to let the driver know to stay your line or when a wreck happens the spotter will inform him to slow down and stay low or high.. Yes it's a team sport, And if anyone thinks these cars drive there self and just going around and round ......... well that's there opinion..
Give it a try Rani, I like working/playing with my car and watch/listen when I can, heck, I go to George Rays Dragstrip and listen to the race on Sundays and watch drag racing at the same time :thumblef:

I hope I see you jump in the NHRA and NASCAR thread and join in the fun as we try and pick the winners :happy2: 6pk C is doing real well in the NHRA thread and we have fun  ocdarts is committed to doing a great job in his threads many of us enjoy :glasses7:.
Another tid bit of info for you is they are running fuel injection in the Sprint cup this year and know can depend on a computer stile ignition box that tells them how the driver and fuel is working.. And every track I have watched raced on the record has been broken buy these new race cars.

I woke up to a pack of dogs or something crossing the hill and had to check it out and let Buddy (My Boxer) know he is doing a good job and let what ever out there see me hit the lights and see what was going on so I was woke up and happy to take the time to help a bit if I did. :happy2:
