I am planning to replace my stock intake and 2 brl on my 360. Engine is 72 I think and is in my 67 Barracuda (904/7 1/4). Was looking at the Summitt easy kit -Eledbrock performer with the 600 Eledbrock carb. This is a cruiser and not planning any strip use .Is this a good combo or is there better combo out there. Thanks for any input.

Yes, it'll work very well. The intake is right in the driver RPM range. The ports are a slight smaller than the heads port windows. This is not an issue but will help with a high velocity intake charge.

The AFB carbs are very good everyday driver carbs. You'll bolt it on, maybe jet it and forget about it. (Spray brake cleaner on the primary clusters when dirty)

This combo will deliver excellent drivabilty, mileage and very reasonable power.

Other intakes like the OE 4bbl are cheaper. Power output is about the same.
The Weiand Action Plus is a contender to the Performer and a fine intake.
All 3 can be found cheaper used.

I've always had good luck with the AFB/Performer or LD-340 manifolds on my 360 for street driving. I haven't tried the actual Eddy carbs, but, as Rumble said, get the carb set up for your combo and it should be trouble free for street use.

Carter 625 on a stock 340/360 4 bbl intake! Keeps it stock and works good for a driver.

I've run that combo myself for a long time. Got me a nice clean burning sniffer passing car and 20 mpg's. 2.76 rear gear w/26 inch tires. Twin cats too! A MSD was an excellent mileage finder!

This is my build 360, 20 over bore,MP purple cam 477 lift 280 dur,340 J heads,headers,LD340 intake,600 Holley,323 gear.Has that lumpy idle from off idle to 5500 rpms she pulls real hard, works great.

A Dyers blower manifold and an 8-71. Yeah.

Thanks for advise on intake.Have a fellow offering me the intake in picture +valve covers and a dist. He says for small block 318-360 but am not sure as valve are different on my 360.Mine have only one hole on each valve cover vs 2 on ones in picture. Can anyone identify this intake and valve covers set and would they be ok on my 360.

That combo will work well. The valve covers will fit. The extra holes are for PCV valve. Use 2 of them for vent caps and one for a filler cap and block off the other one

Thanks for advise - Assumed valve covers would fit but was not sure if the extra holes were for something off that particular manifold and was not sure of how to seal off unused holes so no oil leakage and get a good look. The manifold seems to be a Edelbrock performer?? from comparing to pictures from summitt. Am new to mopar engines so am not familar to various setups.Anything (problems)I should look out for if buying manifold- fellow selling lives a fair distance away and is not very fast with pictures and info on this item. His price of $150 seems fair.

Looks good, as long as none of the holes are stripped out. And yes, it is an Edelbrock Performer. Is the $150 for the covers and manifold? If so, it's a decent price. If it's just for the manifold, you could probably find better. Depends on if you plan on keeping it blue, or whatever color it's painted. Stripping the paint off could be a lot of work. A lot of people want those valve covers, so, again, if that price is for all of it, go for it. Just find out if there are any stripped holes. Check around and make sure the seller has a good rep.

The factory cast iron 4bbl and thermoquad will perform with any combo and will get your best gas milage because it is an extreme spread bore carb. It can be obtained very cheap. The down fall is the TQ carbs can be tricky to adjust.

Welcome aboard 318willrun.

In addition to a tricky to adjust, tuning parts are hard to come by. Bend AFB rods 3/4 of an inch downwards a d clip the rest off so they fit. While only a 2 step rod, this is a easy to get part and cheap soulition vs getting old TQ's as cores.

IMO, this is the best and cheapest upgrade part for a 318 on the street.

The more I see of them, the more I like the Edelbrock/Carter AVS carburetors.

I have been running a Eddie 650 avs on my 360 all summer and I have zero complaints. It doesn't have the same top end as a 750 dp but on the street it works great. Good luck!

I feel in live with the OE AVS carbs many years ago. An old boss of mine loaned my his small AVS for a spell. It so rocked!

Yeah, second that. I have an Edelbrock AVS 650 on my 360 with a Weiand intake. Love it. I installed an AEM brand Air/Fuel gauge and spent some serious time jetting and tuning that carb to perfection. My car is a driver and it's fast and efficient under all conditions. Like all carbs it takes a bit of fiddling and brains to perfect the tune, but I find that kind of work super enjoyable. In comparison to other carbs I've tuned (Bing, Weber, Rochester) these are straightforward to adjust. But having said that I can't imagine how to get a perfect tune without an Air/Fuel gauge. Anyway, the Edelbrock carbs are great and hold their tune without problem. Leak-free, too. I've had two of them now - one on my 360 and one on my 273 and I'm totally satisfied.

I agree 100% on the Edelbrock AVS carb series for a simple low - no maintenance for a mild engine. We have an 800 AVS Thunder and a Performer intake on a 99% stock 74 440. Put it on, set idle mixture, been running for 5 years very nice and clean.

Only down side to Edelbrock carbs is they heat soak a bit it seems to me. Someone recommended a "heat shield carb gasket" to me recently to help with this issue on our 440. We have a really tight engine compartment so it is hard to start when stopped for a few hours and I suspect it is boiling the fuel out of the bowl.

Nuker, Edelbrock has a thick gasket IIRC @ .033 thick that will stop the heat soaking and boiling of the fuel. N em there done that. It should work for you.

Entropy... Gettin all collage like I me huh?
