Warning 5.7 hemi owners

Hello

I just wanted to let you know that timing chains are breaking on the 5.7 Hemi.
It is becoming more common. There are 3 main reasons as why this is occurring.

First prior to installing your 5.7 ..pull out the tensioner and install the heaver duty 6.1 tensioner. The stock 5.7 is building a track record for the tensioner spring failing, the plastic guide falling and then of course the chain becomes loose or breaks. the end result is bent valves, broken tensioner / chain assemble and a hell of a big repair.

If you have MDS and plan or using and this goes for current model car owners, check to see if a computer Reflash is available for you. The MDS comes in too quick from 4cly to 8cly mode and blows up the chain and yes bent valves again. The Reflash slows down the reengagement of the 8cly mode which reduces chain stress.

This is a little more involved but the cam bearings are not great on this motor..or should I say the way they are supplied oil. I will take a picture to show you but the aftermarket ones are far better way to go and notch the block also. Easier to show and describe when I put pics up for you

This is a great motor but needs a few mods first!!
