what grade bolts

Minimum grade 5, but I would prefer grade 8 myself for extra safety.

I think if i remember correctly that the old bolts had lock-washers on there as well.
 
Due to there size alone grade 5 is more than enough. I did a 6800 rpm side step the clutch launch, IN REVERSE! Spit the transmission out but the four ears were still bolted to the scatter shield!
 
as said, I use grade 8 for EVERYTHING. LOL

i agree the cost difference is so little why would you use grade 5 but then again if your sitting on a street corner with a tin cup maybe grade 5 is all you have the money for
 
I used ARP studs for mine. It made it a lot easier to align when I dropped the engine in.
