solid roller takes another casualty... Lifters

not that expensive just annoying, these are howards rollers $350 a set. i had a solid flat in before and wipped off the cam lobes, twice, thats why i went roller in the first place. the first set of these lifters were a casualty of the head rubbing on the push rods, but it's done it again i think ,the same noise is in the engine at the moment. havn't pulled the manifold yet but sounds the same. it's the indy offset angles i think combo with the spring pressure. I have found another guy with comp rollers and he stepped up the spring pressure after 1 year of running fine now his lifters look like mine. same cam lift and engine. i want the offset mrl's but manufacturing is stuffing them around. oh and the lash was set at 18 instead of the 22 the howards cam wanted as they were too noisy for me.......i don't want to harp about indy heads to much but unless you have them on your car you don't have any idea the crap you have to deal with. everything about them sux, just a word of warning, if you buy them and you want to run a solid roller throw out the rockers ,springs and pushrods, grind out the pushrod holes and you rocker covers to clearance the pushrods and buy the best lifters you can get your hands on.
