With an 8" rim the widest you'll be able to run in an 18" wheel is a 255/40/18, and even that's pushing it, smallest recommended for a 255 is a 8.5" wide rim.
The good news is that a 8" rim and 4.99" backspace would fit fine, even without a spring relocation.
