15x7 steelies question

Using your strut rods to push the lower control arms back can cause binding, you will blow out your LCA bushings and the pivot shafts can wear a grove into the kmember over time. Now that being said you can adjust the strut rods to push the lower control arms back you just have to make sure you dont go to far. or it WILL bind. when you do this you will have to have the torsion bars unloaded and be able to freely move the suspension up and down then get an alignment. I know this the hard way I went to an alignment shop and they wrenched the hell out of my strut rods. I had to redo my entire suspension because of it. If I were you I would have the fender cut there is a thread on it. much easier IMO than messing with the suspension.
