Acid reflux?

I used to take Prilosec then when the patent expired I was taking nexium (same thing). That was for years. I drank a lot of beer and a lot of strong ice tea, drove my skid steer mower and tractor which also have adverse effects on the valve that is supposed to make the food pipe a one way trip.

Here is how I stopped it all... In the morning I get a big cup of water and pour in a bunch of baking soda. I drink water all day (until I get home from work then it is beer or the homemade wine) and that first glass with the baking soda is how I am changing my body Ph from acidic to alkaline. I was nebulizing with hydrogen peroxide but the water is easier. Put in enough that you can taste it but not so much that you hate the taste. Doing this every day I have not had reflux in over a year. if I do something silly like munch out late at night on a box of hot wings I will take pre-emptive steps of taking a Alka-seltzer gold in water.

Do your own research but acidity is what is killing us. I think it is from the food we eat these days. If you have a basic Ph (not an acid one) you have a much less chance of getting cancer. Doctors and the med industry don't want us healthy so there is no talk of this. You have to look it up yourself.

Anyways, the baking soda is cheap. I go through a box in about 2 weeks.

And as for sleep, I am an old throwback cause I still sleep on a waterbed. The internal doc who was prescribing the reflux meds said he had to quit cause those don't let you sleep with your throat higher than your stomach. I have a bunch of pillows and do try to sleep inclined, but it doesn't always work that way (refer to the beer and homemade wine).

Those pills are over a $1 each after insurance. they were going up each year. I don't think people need them and how good is it anyways to have the acid production in your stomach thwarted anyways (food digestion)?

Your milage may vary. Good luck.
