1969 Barracuda going on the block @ Barrett Jackson auction in vegas.

Lot number 131 on Thursday evening. Watch it go on TV - Register to bid via phone or show up and bid in person!

It's a great car - for those of you who were at the spring fling and remember it - it's the A4 silver car with the fresh resto.

Location: Las Vegas
Price: $30k + ?????

i would be interested in hearing what this car sold for. i have a numbers matching stock 69 fastback 4sp 383 s car that i'm starting on this winter.

the silver car is very nice, however, i am always confused as to why some folks spend so much time and money on a resto like the one for this cuda and then put wrong parts on the finished car - like the "ralley wheels" on this cuda. those wheels were not original to 67/68/69 cudas. they were not introduced by plymouth until the 1970 car year.

nice car though.

Took the words right out of my mouth. And they are painted Rallyes at that, with late model centers. The car should have 14x5.5 steelies. And what's with the aluminum radiator ? Nice car none the less, but jeez.

I got a kick out of the "before" pictures. Kinda reminded me of how my fish looked when I got it.

guys "restoring" cars, and doing incorrect repair work, then getting inflated money from a wealthy, usally uninformed buyer, is not good for our hobby..

there WILL be someone with deep pockets, and no understanding of correctness, who will pay big money.....again, that is bad for the hobby in general

The people at Barrett Jackson know cars and what too look for that is Probably why it is a Thursday car. Thursday cars seem to go for the mid teens. Good Luck.

Why do a car to that extreme , parts , paint , labor ect .And probably looking to get top dollar out of it and put the wrong wheels and centers on it , i just do not get this ****.

So much focus on the wheels says to me there is little else to complain about.
If I had to choose from these 3 options.. restored OEM hubcaps, aftermarket wheels, Chrysler rally wheels, I would have chosen the same as this builder did.
Why ? I have priced hubcap restoration. That doesn't mean I would take a less expensive route. It means I'm no fool.
Is this car capable of slinging hubcaps ? Yep. Would someone steal all 4 of my hubcaps ? Yep enough said Good luck to the seller

Whatever floats your boat EH .

Exactly :)
To prove your point, I've emailed and asked the guy for more info on the shock tower mod. If I can find out how to get rid of those gosh awful humps and shock absorber ends in the A-body engine bay, I will.
Happy moparing

No pictures of the interior details. Stated they painted and reused door panels. Not one picture of door panels, front seats, dash detail, trunk detail, but 100 pics of the outside. Are we hiding something?

i hope the quote of $47k was incorrect for the barracuda listed in this thread. that would be amazing and quite amusing given the type of mopars you could buy on ebay for that kind of money! there is a near perfect "M Code" 69 on ebay right now with a bid around $46. that is about all M Codes are bringing these days. you can buy a very nice hemi resto 67/68/69 cuda on ebay for around $50k. i just can't imagine anyone paying $47k for the noted silver barracuda. if they did, it must have been as a result of "auction fever" where someone's ego in "beating the other guy" gets in the way of common sense.

I never understood what was so appealing about the A body Barracuda.I never liked any of them until the E body Cuda came out.Really don't understand why anyone would pay that kind of money for one.For 47k,I'd rather buy a 20k B body and drop a Hemi in it.Pocket the rest of the money.

$42k HMMM I wonder WTF mine is worth. That's stupid money and the Exhaust tips are wrong also. And the Pentastar is missing on the bottom of the right fender.

I agree that for $47k, anyone that is willing to buy that A4 340 can come and pick up mine, and I will take them out to dinner, drinks and a movie...my treat.

I also agree that price is M Code money. There was a yellow 440 M Code for sale from a member (pauls) a while back for $35k (no takers)...later on offered again at $45k (I believe still no takers). 36,000 OG miles and the hard to find stuff is intact.

All that being said, I guess that congrats to the seller of the A4 is in order...I thought his $42k asking on his website was stretching it. I also assume that the "choice" of Rallyes was due to the fact that they were on the car to begin with. I thought that car would have a hard time getting out of the high twenties.

Alcohol, ego, lack of knowledge and the circus in general make people do some mighty stupid things! :)
