"Actual Match Race" 1969 440 'Cuda vs 1973 Firebird Formula 'SD-455'

Joe-Nip,

The Gearlords Racing Club out in Altadena, California tested a new
1969 440 'Cuda in February 1969.

They took it out Lions Drag Strip, and could not get the 440 'Cuda w/3.55 Gears
to hook up with the 'little' E70 x 14" tires.

Even their best Mopar Drivers could not get the 440 to run any quicker
than 13.90's @ 102 MPH, and with every 'Off-The-Line' technique they had up
their sleeves.

Finally they gave up, and popped on a set of Prowler 8.00 x 14" Cheater-Slicks
with 14" x 6" Cragar S/S Chrome Wheels.

They were able to 'smoke' some incredible runs of 13.35's @ 106 MPH with the
28" tall Cheater-Slicks.

The only other up-grades.
