That was exactly the situation! My 69 is also on the inside of the quarter. Not the outside. It seems that not ALL of the later model cars are installed like that either.
Well... that would certianly explain the fit issues then.. So I would imagine if your filler neck is mounted from the outside of the quarter your choices would be to pull the filler neck from the tank and reinstall it on the inside of the quarter.. or mill the inside of the adapter down a wee bit...
Thats weird that Mopar would mount the filler neck two different ways..
