1966 Dodge and the D-Dart 'Mistake'
69 Cuda 440, that is awesome! I actually lived near Waverly, about 45 miles away, but always felt like that was grass roots drag racing at least for us. I remember when they shut it down, but I was serving Uncle Sam by then. Don't mean to hi-jack the D-Dart thread, but this is good stuff.

Racing from Saturday Afternoon, into the early-Evening.
In 1967, I think they cut the races down to '8' Dates Per Year.
In 1970, the Government ended races up there, as they re-paved the
Airport Strip, and said 'NO MORE DRAG RACES'.
The Bastards.....
Yes, I was up there a few times with my Father and his racing Group 'West-Put Timing Association'.
