starting my 4spd swap tomorrow

-
I've got everything in it all fits perfect EXCEPT the driveshaft? I thought they were the same length?

Nope. Did you remove a 727 or 904? The 727 is longer than an a body 4 speed and you need a longer shaft for the 4 speed. The 727 uses the same slip yoke as most 4 speeds. B body, C body and truck/van 4 speeds have a longer tailshaft and are the same length as a 727. The 904 is similar in length to an A body 4 speed, but uses a smaller slip yoke.

dont forget to install a new pilot bushing in the crank shaft before you install the clutch.

Install the trans yoke flush and measure from u joint c/l to c/l, then subtract an inch for suspension travel.

Will have my driveshaft back tomorrow evening, what's the best way to adjust a centerforce dual friction? I'm ready to let this thing eat!!!

well if you read the instructions that came with the clutch you are supposed to take it easy for the first 500 miles

that has to be the hardest 500 ever spent driving. :)

need to figure out clutch switch wiring and reverse light wiring. Do I just need to use the original wiring that went to the automatic neutral safety switch and split it to run to the clutch switch and reverse switch? Or does someone sell a different harness?

Details, details, please! What kind of parts did you use, How hard to install, price range etc? Pics

I used all factory OEM parts except for the centeforce clutch. It was a very easy swap if you have alll the correct stuff. I also have some leftover pieces and parts that may help you get started.

Very cool on the swap and the first drive! I think you will get lots of enjoyment out of it.

Congratulations aaron68s  I bet you are enjoying grabbing gears :burnout: and coasting down hills now :D
How do you like the gears ? what rear gear are you running and tire size ? and at 60 what rpm are you running ? Enjoy, sorry to have so many questions :coffee2:

Glad to hear it worked out well for you.
I've never driven anything with a centerforce clutch in it, i would like to know if the installation is any different than the old style borg and beck once you have the right parts.
What is different that you have to buy extra, or is it a true bolt in/ replacement?
How easy is the pedal effort really?
I know you need to remove the over center spring in the pedals, that's the easy part.

the centerforce bolted right in place like a factory style, it was painless, the pedal is very nice not to stiff at all, my wife even said it was easy to push.:burnout:

:burnout:Got about 70 miles on my swap no issues, and a couple romps, man its a totally different car. Runs awesome!!!
