Sis spring shocks

-
Hmm. I think I want more of a street machine with a handfull of strip trips a year. What shocks do you guys recommend?

Get the Mopar performance extended shocks. They are meant to be used with the S/S springs ...

Mancini lists different rear shock part numbers for the Comp Engineering pieces and I know one of them is made longer to accommodate the SS Springs. Last time I called them, they said that the Mopar Performance extended shocks were out of stock and not being made anymore. This was about 2 years ago.

PS- I run Comp Engineering at all four corners. The ride isn't too rough, but I do have 1" torsion bars and Super Stock Springs, so I don't expect a soft ride.

One nice thing is summit shows the extended/colapsed lengths.that way you can compare.I too have used the MP shocks with ss springs work well. Remember to check the rear brake hose from frame to housing when extended. You may have to get a longer one or move the frame bracket.

yes those are the longer ones of the two that CE makes, 24.5 extended vs the 2730 with is 23.620

i run the CE's on my 68 with slant bars up front and SS 002/3's out back, work great, and ride is actually very nice, not floaty but not really firm either.

Thanks 805!

What settings do you run them on for the street? What kind of body roll do you have when you corner?

Those 24" ones are too short.

X2,I run basic 70 Imperial gas shocks, with the 002/003 springs. Straight talk, from someone with 40+ years Mopar experience.

They are 26.25 extended and 15.63 compressed. IF they are REAL Imperial shocks. Beware of imitations.

They are,on my part. Took a while to find them. Low line Monroe..... (cheapest gas shocks). S.S springs, designed,to extend a long way,to plant a small tire contact patch(usually a slick). They
need a longer travel shock,to "plant" the tire ,on downward force. That's how I see it.
