I have a lowered suspension and they fit fine. The back fits on like normal and the fronts just use the spacers. Throw some lug nuts on and your ready to go. I do however think you have to take one of the zerk fitting out of the ball joints.
Do you mean the lower ball joint or the tie rod end? I have heard that these 17's can run close to the tie rod ends, but a thin spacer can help with that.
Do you have front disc brakes? I'm assuming you do since the wheels are large bolt pattern. I know the 73 cars had a slightly wider wheel base out front due to the disc brakes being installed, so I may not have as much of a clearance issue.
