"1968 Match Race City" 68' Barracuda vs. 68' Camaro

The 68' Barracuda 383/300 HP 4-Speed would handle the 68' Camaro 327/275 HP
4-Speed, but this would be a closer race than expected.

With 3.91 Gears, the Barracuda was around 14.60's @ 96 MPH.

The Barracuda still had a somewhat 'strangled' exhaust system, and the
Hydraulic Camshaft {.425/.437" Lift ~ 264*/268* Duration ~ 40* Overlap}
was not that strong.

The weight {#3161 lbs.} did not hamper the Notchback with the 383 all that much,
as the low Horsepower 383 was more of a 'Torque-Bull'.

The Camaro at #2968 lbs. was {#193 lbs.} lighter than the Mopar, and off the line
the Chevy would have have had a big advantage.

The 68' Camaro with the 327/275 HP and 4-Speed, had the 12-Bolt Rear, and the
M-20 Wide-Ratio {2.52 1st-Gear} worked good with the 275 HP Engine.

The 3.73 Gears with the (Code #G80} Posi-Traction was a must with the Camaro
with a 4-Speed.

And the Rear-Suspension was equipped with a 5-Leaf Spring unit, with the 4-Speed.

Plus, the Camaro 327/275 HP had the optional 'Dual-Exhaust' with 2 1/2" Piping,
which was bigger piping than the A-Body with the 383.
