I'm pretty sure that Newspaper Advertisement was from March 1967,

Just after the 67' Dart GTS 383 was introduced on February 10, 1967.

Great thing about Grand-Spaulding, was that they had a 'special discount' and
'easy loan package' for the U.S. Military Personnel {returning G.I's from Vietnam}.

They really wanted to push the Musclecars back then......

According to Mr. Norm,

The 1967 Dart GTS 383 'GTN' {Stage 1}

After 'performance modifications', the GTN 'Stage 1' put out
390 Horsepower @ 5000 RPM's to the rear wheels on the Bear Dyno.
 
Mr. Norm {Norman Kraus}

Projected that the 1967 Dart GTS 383 'GTN' was capable of 13.80's @ 102 MPH, with a set of 4.10 Gears.

Norman Kraus said that his Dart 'GTN' could outrun a 'stock' 1967 426 Street Hemi Coronet R/T.

A pretty bold statement for a 383/280 HP with just 'Street Performance' bolt-ons.

I met Norm at Carlisle in 2010, he was with the Challengers that were converted to Cuda's with a supercharger on them.

'GTN' Street Performance Package............$363.65' , Dam this seems to cheap to believe.

I know, kind of unbelievable.

'Kustom' Tuned-Headers {Under-Chassis}, with Hemi-type Mufflers, and
installed, part of that GTN 'Stage 1' package.

And, swapping out the 3.23 Gears, for a set of 3.55 cogs.

Re-jetting the Carter AFB and re-setting the 'Pump-Shots and 'Float Level'.

A 'Dual-Point' Distributor, that is set with a 'Performance Curve' on the Sun-Scope
Distributor Calibration Machine

High-Performance Ignition {Spark-Plug} Wiring.

Autolite A-42 Spark Plugs.

Car pulled on the 'Bear Dyno', and fine-tuned.

There is/was some debate as to who just 'popped' the 383 in the 1967 A-Body first,
Plymouth - Dodge or 'Mr. Norm' {Grand-Spaulding Dodge}.

Mr. Norm made the claim that is was him first, but Plymouth had already installed
the 383 in the 1967 Barracuda in August/September 1966.

Mr. Norm's {Grand-Spaulding} Dart GT '383' project started in December 1966.

As per Chrysler {August 1966} they only planned on offering the 383 in the 1967 Barracuda 'only'.

Kind of a pre- Super Bee thing.

I have seen a lot of Mopars, but I don't think I ever saw a 1967 Dodge Coronet 'Deluxe'
with a 383/325 HP '4-Speed'.

Yes, a much 'pre-weakened' version of the 1968 Dodge Super Bee 383/335 HP

Why would you say much weakened?

A- because logically It can't be weakened if the Bee hasn't been produced yet, and

B- It's 10 "book" HP, and a lighter car.

With a Mr. Norms tune I bet it performed the same.

'Pre-weakened'.......

The difference in 'Shipping Weight' was not that much, only {72 lbs.}.
* 1967 Coronet Deluxe...... #3388 lbs.
* 1968 Super Bee............. #3460 lbs.

Book Horsepower on the 1967 383 4-Barrel was 325 HP, but it was much closer to
280 to 290 Horsepower.

* #516 Cylinder Heads with a 1.60" Exhaust Valve.
* Restrictive Exhaust System
* Mild Camshaft {Same as 383 2-Barrel}
* Weak Valve Springs
* Low-profile Intake Manifold with poor flowing Runner-Ports
* Carter AFB {575 CFM}

All you have to do is look at the 'anemic' Production Numbers, and you
could tell that the 1967 383 was 'not' a Street Musclecar.

Grand Spaulding Dodge {Mr. Norm's} did have an 'Upper Engine Kit', for the 383 which included;
* Racer Brown Camshaft 'Hydraulic' and High Load-Rate Valve Springs,
* Edelbrock Aluminum Dual-Plane High Rise Intake
* Holley 600 CFM Carburetor.

That got you going in the right direction.

There was a Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3.

Anybody know what was in Stage 2 or Stage 3.
