Latest 408 from MRL Performance

So here is our latest build. Thought you might like to see what it is and what it did.

360 prepped for a 408 stroker
SCAT 9000 4" crank
RPM H beam rods
Mahle flat top pistons
ProComp heads 2.02/1.60 exhaust port work only, and very little at that
Hughes roller rockers 1.5
Lunati SFT cam 251/259 duration
Old School Holley Strip Dominator
750 carb from some carb shop(customer supplied)
Kevco oil pan
MSD dist(customer supplied)
Well thats the basic run down

12 to 1 compression Like I said minor port work on these heads. Good valves, good valve job. Minor bowl work on the intake side to blend the new valve job into the bowls and NOTHING else on the intake side. Cleaned up the bowls on the exhaust and smoothed some small ridges and thats it.

Timing was 20* to start and 35* total at 3200rpm

Carb was not all that great and there was no real adjustment to it, so our A/F ratios were from 11.5 to 13.3. BSFC was .375 to .458, not to bad but could have been better.

It made 551HP at 5800rpm and 535TQ at 4700rpm

500+TQ from 3750-5800rpm. Actual torque peak was at 4700rpm but it made 530+ from 4200-5100rpm

500+HP from4950 rpm on up

I have to tell ya, these ProComp heads are nice. I have built and sent out 6 sets in the last 2 months. They flow better than the RPM and have a better, cleaner casting.

I have 3 more SBM with these heads going on the dyno this next month or 2 so stay tuned!
