hey guys does any have a pic of option # 583 bolt on design wheel covers? I am looking to see if my 68 barracuda has the factory caps still on the car. Thanks

Wow i thought i had the factory caps. i guess not. how common are those? And cost. thanks

How are they held on the rim?

Just like any other wheel cover. Tangs grab the wheel and hold them on.

The "Bolt On" is misleading. They are just a full wheel cover with 5 holes for extra long lug nuts to poke through so they look bolted on.

How rare are they thanks

Not rare enough to matter.

Edit: I guess that wasn't a very good reply, I will try for a better one.

I wouldn't call them rare. Uncommon would be a better word.

You had the standard dog-dish which is probably the most common.

Next was the Deluxe full wheel cover ($21.30 option). These are the rarest to see on a car today. The only thing deluxe about them was their name. They are not very attractive so people don't run them. They were, back in 68, more than likely the second most common.

Next would be the Bolt on ($44.90 option). Less common than the Deluxe and Dog dish.

Lastly you had the full wire wheel cover. Probably the least common (although I don't have hard numbers). These were a $64.10 option which was damn expensive in 68.

Thanks i will be on the hunt for the bolt on design for my 68 formula s

I picked up a couple sets on eBay. There is a non-bolt on wheel cover that looks a lot like the bolt on style and many people will say they are for a Barracuda but they are not correct so don't fall in that trap.
