I have 2 different LD4B intakes. Anyone know why they changed them? Both have Chrysler Part Numbers 2836139.

Look at the ports. I bet one is big port and one is small. They did make both. Strange they would sport the same number though.

Nice! I'd say the bottom one is an earlier version.

That's correct although both are 66 and up manifolds. Look at the bolt holes. I'd say the top manifold is a 68-69 part. Ports are the same on both. Larger ports were found on the LD340

No sir. The LD4B came in both port sizes. I have had them both and seen them both. Unported.

I just measured both intakes. The ports on these are roughly the same size. 1.05-06 wide and 1.93-94 high. The bottom manifold has had the intake bolt holes enlarged so I can not tell what size they were originally. The top manifold looks un-touched.
Just for grins I measured my D64 and those ports measure 1.51 wide and 2.03-06 wide.

Edlebrock appeared to have changed the carburetor flange area to a rectangular casting in order to leave enough metal to allow machining the primary and secondary ports to larger bore sizes. It looks like the earlier design only left enough metal for opening up the secondary ports for a spread bore carb.

The filled in cRb base area was done for sealing purposes in my opinion.

That boss is on both, just little different angle. return spring.

I know you guys will know this answer, what is different from D4B and LD4B?

And what the heck is an LD4?
