among finishing the body work and painting the Dart this winter, we are doing an auto to 4 speed swap. I have not done this in over 40 years. kinda scared I may not be able to do it but I have to try. My son wants one in it so I will need help. in looking over some of these posts on here, where do I get a fenderwell ball stud brace. I am sure this car doesn't have one on it. how critical is the placement of it.

Off a stick car. Just line its holes up and the one in the inner fender done by the factory to get the correct placement.

Hi,

I just did a 4 speed conversion on my '69 Dart. I found just about everything I needed from Mega Parts USA.

Here is a link to a reproduction ball stud bracket if you can't find an original.

There should be a rubber plug in the fender well from the factory where the ball stud is to be located and the corresponding frame bracket on the outside. If there is no rubber plug or hole behind the driver's side front wheel on the inner fender, then there must have been some repair done to your car and you will need some dimensions to locate the hole and bracket.
