74 dart swinger, gauge wiring help

Hi
I'm having the same problem...
let me start by what I know. the fuel and temp guages along
with the parking brake light and the oil light are all powered
from the ignition run switch.
I was just out under the car checking the connection to the gas
tank, and no voltage...
that mulit pin connector I have not found a "pin out" yet
but you can make a reference on paper, the follow the diagram
and make your own. the parking light and oil light are the first two
to the right of the connecters keyway...
Some people on here talk about grounding the cluster
the cluster shouldl be grounded back through the connector.
as you know the cluster is plastic, so no grounding can occur
# 2 and 6 were mentioned on here as being the fuses for our
problem, I changed both and did not correct the problem.
But since we are both having the same problem I would say it
is something simple that we overlooked. Mine occured
after I removed the cluster to fix the dim light problem I was
having. There is a slight chance it is your voltage regulater
behind the cluster... metal box, push in type with 3 tabs.
these do go bad, in my case a made a electronic one months ago
and checked it the other day, 12v in 5v out...
Opps just hit me, although the gauges and the 2 lights come on
together with the ignition switch they are not the same circuit.
as the guages only use 5v and the bulbs use 12...
that is good to understand since then we can work back to a common
point...from which the 2 circuits seperate.
Hope you fix yours, and if you do please Post it.
and I'll be doing the same
