I am currently working on a solution. I may have to make 2 adapters of different thickness.
Ill need to gather the "average" amount I need to decrease the depth.
So if you are installing this on a 1973 and up.. please do me a favor and try to get me a solid measurement of the distance between the back of the cap base, to the body itself.
I will figure up and average and see about making a thinner version.
I may be able to make a thinner version and just include a spacer of the difference for the older cars.
I will attempt to find a realistic solution to the issues for the 73' and up guys! :)
