I would rebuild it myself, but then I have been doing them for 30+ yrs. I know not everyone has the facilities to do it but if you can do it you'll save several hundred dollars. There's NO way would I ever consider buying that one off E-bay. Buying stuff off of E-bay is a shot in the dark. That seller might be ok but how do you know for sure? I have a buddy that thinks everything needs to be bought off e-bay. Funny thing is he has a small mountain of crap he's bought off e-bay that didn't fit, didn't work or didn't fit when he got it and he never got one red penny back on anything. I personally can't understand that mentality.
Back to yours, you can probably buy a street and strip trans. with a converter from a reputable transmission source just as cheap.

Add a Trans-go TF-2 shift kit and converter and you'll probably be right close to the same price as the one from e-bay but you'll get a warranty you can trust. John Cope is a respected member here on the board and I know him personally and recommend him. The only disadvantage is he's so far from you. Maybe someone here knows a reputable shop near Riverside and will chime in.
