In need of mentor.

... Or just advice here.

I'm lookin for a volunteer I can pm, text, call, Facebook message, etc. to get help, advice, tips and pointers on body work and paint. I'm 19 n haven't done any body work other than some sanding and cut out some rust spots and cut patch panels out of a hood but never installed them b4 I sold the car.

Story is, A few weeks ago I got a 99 Neon (not an A-body but let me explain) I traded my s10 with a knocking motor for it. The neon has a completely rebuilt 2.4 DOHC motor with 9,*** miles on it, everything internal and rubber on the engine was replaced. The car has a really nice body overall, the front passenger side door and rocker have a dent and there's some surface rust and high spots on the hood. I have an extra door to replace the dented one and can get a brand new rocker on eBay for $36 shipped. It's originally gray but has a black hood and bumper, since I'll need to paint the front end anyway I decided I'm gonna fix the few small things on the body and paint the car sassy grass or lime light with a flat black hood and put rallye wheels on it. I basically want to use this car to learn body n paint as I really can't hurt the value of the car, I mean, IT'S A NEON!! Lol!

So the main thing I'm lookin for answers for right now is the good... As far as high spots do you just keep sanding then till they smooth out? What do you use for skim coat, filler, sealer n all that? I wanna keep this cheap as possible as its just my beater work car but I've heard that Bondo brand doesn't stick well but will it be fine for what I'm doing? This will by no means be a show car! Just lookin to learn n hopefully improve my cars looks and value at the same time.
Thanks in advance!

N by all means post advice and suggestions here too!!
