That's crazy Rob...the motor in the 74 was a 77 dated block as well! Must've been something with that year. Apparently it was supposed to be a factory replacement block, as the original owner of the truck used it to pull a camper all over the U.S. and pulled the guts out of the original; and when my dad got it the truck had 274,000mi on it. I think it's rolled over 400,000mi now. Dad got it in 1993 or 4. Who know's if the trans has been rebuilt, lol. I know for a fact not since he's had it. Truck had an 8 3/4 with 3:55 Cone type sure grip....that got replaced with a 3:23 open when the 3:55's went into my 71 Dart at the time, lol. Again, it's his daily driver....even outlasted the 2002 zx2 escort he bought in 03 that's now in the scrap yard!
