273 needs new heads, suggestions

I did the leak down test on the driver side bank, here are the results.
1- 50% (some leak from exhaust and a decent amount from the dip stick)
3- 65%(leak from exhaust and dip stick)
5- 85% (leak from exhaust and intake)
7- 80% ( leak from exhaust and a little from the dip stick)

So overall not very good, I could check the other side but ill probably get the same thing and its getting dark. Tomorrow I am hoping to remove the heads if I have time. I still need to find a machine shop in Seattle.

You could send them to us? Shipping both ways would be about 150.00. Just a thought...:)

I've seen ppl talking about how I would be lucky to have the 920's and my heads say 2658920. Am I really lucky and more importantly why am I lucky???

possibly ou812 but I prefer to work locally when I can. Just got the block number, 2465330. I have the passenger side head off but am having some serious trouble with the driver side head. I'm gonna start another thread looking for ideas on best way to remove the head.

I have old school valve grinding machine I use for my rebuilds. Its in my shop in yakima, I'm in the auburn area. If your interested we could set something up. If the seat is toast I don't have equipment to machine and install a new one though. I would be willing to help redo your heads for some 66 and later sb closed chamber head cores.

Got word from my local machine shop. Heads are shot. Need complete work, new valves, guides and the seats are sunken. So im looking at alternate ideas. Earlier someone said if I went with eddy's I would have to modify my block for the valves to clear. I have since discovered that the cylinders have been hired 40 over. Will I still need to notch the block?

EmersonC,
See the Mopar Tech archive forum, Engine Casting Numbers thread and the Cylinder Head Casting Numbers thread. From the casting numbers that you gave, you have a '64-'66 LA 273 engine and the heads were from a '67 318 with 1.78 intake and 1.50 exhaust. Those casting number threads are very helpful for identifying parts.
