No more seling parts !!

-
totally useless thread without who it was. you are setting someone else up to be screwed by this guy.

This isn't a bad seller or a bad buyer issue....

UPS broke the part and the seller has been provided pictures.

The ups store asked if I wanted it replaced or refund.
I said replaced so the guy could at least get the part he wanted. He couldn't wait. So here we are.

If the seller shipped said part and it was damaged during shipping, then refunded the buyers money, is the seller not entitled to get the part back?

HI EVERYONE, this is cawley. I will no longer be selling parts on fabo or any other site. I have been just recently screwed over by another fabo member. No I will not name names. I know I shouldn't let one bad egg spoil it for everyone. For those of you that I have sold things to & bought things from I thank you. I will still be a fabo member. I think this a really great site & I enjoy it. I have tried to sell my parts at a good price. I wasn't out to make big bucks, but to help others out. ID sooner see my parts being put to good use rather sitting around collecting dust & ive helped another mopar person out. This has left a very bad taste in my mouth if you know what I meen. Thank you FABO for letting me sell my parts on your site. I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A SAFE & HAPPY THANKSGIVEING

Cawley,

Why not put their name out there on the board, this way others would be wary of them, I did a transaction with you a while back, i believe it was for a 67 cuda notch rear wiring harness. You sent it to me before i even sent payment, knowing i had to wait till a monday to get a postal money order in the mail. Thats trust of a fellow fabo member, and cost less compared to year ones price. Thanks for selling it to me. I sent payment ASAP. I agree with other members, dont let one bad apple spoil it for everybody. Otherwise theres craigslist, with less than stellar results, or feebay as the name rightfully implies.

Matt

Wow, a lot of conjecture here about selling!!

You all know that I sell stuff here, sometimes a lot of stuff!! But, I wouldn't be into selling as much as I do if I wasn't truly interested in selling items that members need, really need!! I don't sell items for a living, I sell to keep myself in the hobby, and to keep other people in the hobby also! Is selling hard work? You bet!! It's a job, no if ands or buts!! But, to be a seller you have to treat it as a job, and any job I do I try to do my best!! Removing parts, cleaning them up,'inspecting them, photos, accurate descriptions, listing, packing, shipping, communication....it takes a lot just to get one item out to a member in need! If I were in it just for the money, I would be losing my butt,'but like mentioned above,'what keeps me selling isn't making $$$ (although it helps), its being in the hobby and sharing it with people who want to do the same!

If one bad deal can change your mind about selling, than you're right, you shouldn't be selling!! No harm, no foul, it just ain't for you! But, why make a thread about t? Just don't sell anymore!!

Fine. I sent him is money back, he got it. Now all he has to do is send the part back to ups so they can inspect it. To ship it back is free.

the lazy buyer needs to send the part to ups for inspection. so yes a name would be needed in this case. he got his money back but isn't helping the seller get his back. like i said. useless thread without a name.

Do we know that it hasn't been sent and just hasn't been delivered yet? We are getting information in bits and pieces instead of all the details at once.

Maybe I am missing the boat but to me the seller is complaining that the buyer didn't want to wait for UPS to replace it.

I have never seen UPS actually replace anything, only pay off the claim in a check if they agreed it was their fault it was damaged.

Without complete details we are going down this bridge to no where fast.

thread is useless without a name. nuff said. end of story. no name may as well not post anything.

Simple way to resolve: OP send purchaser a PM asking to return damaged part or parts to UPS and provide you with tracking number within next 5 business or be outted on the forum and be given a negative rating.

I hope it works out for you.

Somtimes I get irritated about the US-system doing business...

I bought a lot of parts I needed for the resto here at FABO - thank you guys, all had been perfect!

But if I'm living tenthousands of miles away, I want to be sure that..

- I will get what I bought
- the seller gets his money for sure
- it wil be easily to handle.

I use PayPal at every deal - it's so simple, fast, but I allways read about cheques, money-orders. I will never do business with someone that doesn't accept PayPal. It's like laying money on the road and hoping it will stay there.

Sometimes I believe you act like in 18th century. On the on side the US create banksystems like Visa and Mastercard, Ebay and PayPal are your creation, we in Europe have to swap our banksystems to IBAN and SWIFT because it's easier for the NSA to control our money-flow, on the other hand your own banks aren't using IBAN. It needs 24 hours on bank-transfer from Germany to New York. And up to 16 DAYS before the money is transferred from the Centralin NY to a small village in TX. Unbelievable! And parts for hundreds of Dollars you trade like chicken against wool... Without any safety-regulations...

You nailed it Joe. why come on and say you are "no longer selling parts??"
If there is an issue, just don't sell em. I sympathize with you though, I had one member here "OhioMopar" try to screw me, I outted him and got my refund to the tune of $285.
Waggin helped me with getting another issue resolved. In both cases I sent "warning" pm's to the sellers before I outted them.

paypal or you can keep your part. protects seller and buyer.

It's BROKE, can't be fixed. Not talking about the part in question but the internet way of buying and selling. Both buyer and seller is left vulnerable pretty much at all times in every transaction.

A postal money order would do better at protecting both parties than paypal would.

An envelope of $20's would do better at protecting both parties than Paypal would. At least that couldn't get your account emptied!

Attitudes like that are why I will not buy anything online without a credit card. TWICE, I paid for things that were never shipped. Once, the guy relisted the stuff I paid for the day he got the money! I don't screw around: since I sent the payment Priority Mail-return receipt & it was a USPS money order, I sicced the postal inspectors on him for mail fraud! If you do not send what I paid for, I WILL have you arrested!

My "Tude" got this way from being in the OP's exact spot. Your last fee lines of your post I agree with and windo myself 100%!

The part that was shipped he got it. The part was damaged. I left ups know about it, I filled out a claim. I waited for the claim to go through. He couldn't wait, he wanted his money back. Fine. I sent him is money back, he got it. Now all he has to do is send the part back to ups so they can inspect it. To ship it back is free. All I want is to get some of my money back. He sent pictures of it,yes it is damaged & sucks that it happened. The ups store asked if I wanted it replaced or refund. I said replaced so the guy could atleast get the part he wanted. He couldn't wait. So here we are. Maybe im in the wrong. All I can do is listen & do what the ups store tells me. I have sent many many things out from this store & never had a problem. Hell if im in the wrong someone please tell me. I am man enough to admit when im wrong. No one is perfect

You should have let the insurance pay for it not refund him the money yourself. Yes he may have had to wait but it wasn`t your fault so no reason for you to refund him. Now that you gave him his money back he is screwing you for not shipping it back. If we don`t have feedback for both good and bad members it just leaves others to get screwed - name him!

Cawley, Sorry you had a bad experience...some folk's communication really sucks. Sounds like a return policy that protects you would be helpful if you change your mind about selling. If the buyer got his $ back and keeps your part he is scamming you and YOU SHOULD leave negative feedback to help the rest of us.
