Hi there.
Does anyone out there know if you could put a flat tapped camshaft from an LA Engine into a Magnum Engine with roller lifters?

If Not, please explain why for a new beginner like my self :-?

No!

Flat tappet cam lobes are tapered, offset, or both. That's to promote lifter rotation for wear purposes. The roller lifter need to ride on a straight flat lobe. The pressure applied by a tapered lobe would tear apart a roller setup fairly quick.

Many thanks for that answer. :)

I say at one needs a doctor!

You can not use roller lifters I a Hyd. cam period!

1991 to 1993 la blocks are roller blocks 1994 blocks could be both ways but all 1994 motors have magnum heads but some blocks are drilled for la heads. So if you would have the want to put a la hyd cam in a magnum block the only difference is the length of the lifter bores

Negative. The can lobes on all flat tappets, have a taper front to back on each lobe. This makes the flat tappet spin. You use a roller lifter on it,it will eat the came lobe up(roller lifter ,harder material than a flat tappet cast iron lobe. You can run a LA flat tappet cam & matching lifters.,in a Magnum(Amc lifters). Also can run a LA hyd roller cam ,as well.

Putting a flat tappet cam in a magnum block is one thing, running roller lifters on a flat tappet cam is another and that's what the OP is asking. No can do
