Passon 5-speed

-
Expensive trans. 200R4 fits with only a custom cross member and an adaptor for the bell pattern. Plus it holds more power....

really! Real men shift H pattern

This trans is awesome! ALL USA STEEL, ALL USA MADE, PLUS YOU CAN HOLD THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND SHIFT IT WITH A FAST LEFT FOOT!!!
WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Funny this trans would finally release right after I finish my 6 speed swap. Always been a consideration of mine since I really wanted overdrive, but the price was a little high for me (or any other overdrive trans kit). Nice that it didn't require any cutting though, so even if it's in the same ballpark price-wise as the other kits it's a little less work.

Really! Last I checked an auto will out shift anyday of the week. Remember (best racing quote ever) "ask any real racer, it doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winnings winning."
Now about that real man stuff. So you're tell me that the other person who will be driving my car isnt a real man because he can no longer drive a stick (hence why it will be an auto) even though he not only stood up and served this country but retired out of the US Army? I mean a few wars lots of road marches in full battle dress lots of deployments I can go on but you get the idea have taken a toll on knees which don't operate like they use too. If that's not a real man I don't know what one is.
If you haven't figured it out I'm just busting your chops don't worry about lol.

Depends on your goals for the car. If you're into drag racing, then great, go for the automatic. But I like to take my car up in the hills and run it through the twisties. Gotta row your own in that case.

If I was maimed or an amputee I would love an automatic. The only people that LOVE automatics usually own a transmission repair shop.....

I've always had a stick shifts in my Mopars but I'm going to use an automatic in my current build -- why ? Just because I want to

some say....

a hot rod with a automatic is like sex with a rubber....

from memory.....I gotta agree

Hey guys, I've been reading this with interest.
$4,500 is pretty cheap for a drop in and drive box with no mods needed.
I mean were you really expecting someone to invest heavily in the idea/ design/engineering/materials/ testing /advertising etc. and sell it for $2000.

T56, TKO's, Richmond, etc all require mods and usually some cutting.

For a good example I recently looked into the Keisler 5 speed to suit my 67 barracuda 383. The kit came in at just over $6000. Many mods are required including, Hydraulic clutch, Custom tail shaft, bell housing, some wiring and cutting the floor.

This Passon 5 speed, if it performs as stated looks like the way to go..
:burnout:

It's hard to explain, but there's just something that's really satisfying about driving a car with a smooth shifting manual trans. Especially if it's behind a powerful V-8.

That's why you put in a unimatic shifter and tune your valve body for manual shifts. Best of both worlds.

screw that gateless/ratchetless POS... i had one for a long time and hated it. only reason i got it was for the 4 speed look... Pro-matic ratchet and be done, of course controlling a cheetah MRVB!

I'd have to agree. Auto might be more consistent, but its boring.

RMVB with Low band apply will fix the boring! It will go into any gear whenever you tell it to without any lag or delay at all! Ask me how I know this? hahaaa

To tell you the truth, I am a 4 speed guy at heart, I miss rowing the gears.
Guess I gotta buy another car for that! Lol

I spoke with Jamie today and they are in actual production. The vent issue has been remedied. They are being hand built a few at a time so it will take a while to work down the list, but they are actually being made and released now.

Can't wait to read a few reviews.

For 4200 plus I think I am better off just getting OD. It's nice, but that is A LOT

I just learned that he doesn't have the speedometer housing required for the early A yet either so that will probably entail a longer wait:-(

I emailed Jamie of my intentions and he said Fall at the earliest. 368 ahead of me.

Bill

That is a lot of transmissions! Looks like it is taking off.

Kinda like eatin a good steak with a balloon on yer tougue...

If it tastes like steak, i 'm using the balloon. Must be a midwest thing. Last i checked it was a more surf than turf. :finga:

To me there really aren't any options that fit. For the auto your stuck with Keisler which is a disaster. All the manual kits require cutting and leave you with the wrong driveshaft angle. To me, these aren't solutions. I applaud Jamie as its the only real overdrive solution that actually fits.
