the frame was blasted and powder coated, with a no glare black almost a semi-flat and has a slight texture.

I had an argent made a touch darker then factory mixed and put into a can. I had to buy 6 cans and had a little left for airbrushing. I just started on my last can, but mopar argent would work also. I like the darker as it doesn't look dirty so easily.
I wipe with wax and grease remover then use 400 for any rough areas then a red scotchbrite pad to lightly scuff the rest.
I spray light coats and give a couple days after applying the chrome to the whole bezel first. then a day for each additional color. Do it in a warm area maybe with a heat lamp nearby.
I do not use primer or adhesion promoter and one that I did 2 years ago has no issues at all.
it does not have that real "chrome" vacuume metalized look, but it looks clean and tidy and has a duller chrome reflective quality. Not much of the "chrome" is really visible once installed. I use a thin brush and q-tip for the fine details details.
