"No guns" signs ?

I have recently seen "No Guns" signs on Post office entrance doors and a few business's. Is this a legal ban or just a suggested request? I just ignore them because I have read the Constitution and have a CCP.

If you carry you need to check state law. There is definately places you can NOT carry by law. In Idaho, ANY private business that "properly posts" (signage) their business/ property can establish LEGAL basis for you leaving your weapon somewhere else under "no trespassing" laws. This is, as they say, "an arrestable offence"

The irony? Remember that Colorado theater shooting? That theater chain company policy is keeping customers weapons out. Might have been a different outcome

I was compelled to "lie" some time ago in my local hospital which has a catch 22 situation. Here you are, you have your sidearm, or maybe only your leatherman tool, and you have ended up in the emergency room, either by yourself or by help from someone else.

It was "made clear" to me when they asked me if I possessed any guns or knives, that they were

A.......not allowed on premises and would have to be confiscated

B......there did not seem to be any provision for storage or return

or the correct answer.......

C.....You DON'T have any guns or knives, DO you?

I realize you are in PA, this is from the Idaho Ag

Are there places where I cannot carry a concealed weapon even with a license? Yes. You may not carry a concealed weapon in a courthouse, juvenile detention facility, adult correctional facility, prison, jail, public school or private school.
Federal law may prohibit you from carrying a weapon in places such as federal courthouses and airports.
If you have any doubt, you should contact the government entity prior to carrying a weapon onto its premises.

May I carry a concealed weapon in private businesses that are open to the public?
Yes, unless the private business, which is open to the public forbids carrying weapons on the business premises. Private businesses are within their rights to prohibit weapons on their property.
