pop rivets for a transmission hump?

-
I would use screws over rivets just so it can be removed down the road easily when a problem arises... Been done this way for years. I've done this as well as making my own rubber gasket for the tunnel

You dont have to modify the transmission crossmember when installing those transmissions?
Cause that you should weld if mod is needed. My 2C.

When considering how to do my floor for a 5-speed conversion (I checked out a buddy's nova installation) I thought I'd like to do mine with some of these slide-on screw plates. Then maybe seal it with some pliable black dum-dum to keep it water tight. Having removable trans tunnel sheetmetal seems priceless if it's somewhat easy to do.......just can't do the sheetmetal screw thing though.

At my work, we use this stuff called "Plexus" and it's the most insanely wicked adhesive I ever saw......for those of you who would want a permanent setup, instead of welding. Our buses literally have their air tank brackets, booster pumps and door brackets secured with just Plexus.
