just a bitof ramgling and a question or two

UPS just dropped these off.

Quick question:

The car as it sits has home made patches riveted in on both sides in the rear, and on the passenger side front, floor pans.

I plan on removing the rivetted patches, getting some measurements, and cutting the replacements and floor pan and welding them in...does that sound reasonable, I don't need to replace the complete panel, the holes are about 6" by a foot, so "i was going to cut the replacement piece from the new ones a bit bigger than the hole, overlay it, mark it, cut the car floor to accomodate the patch, then do the welding.

any other suggestions or does this sound spot on

Thanks
