Hi Fabo,
So i tried looking thru some of the threads and didnt find what i was looking for,
I have a 67 Dart 2dr HT, Replacing the front glass, and want to do the 68 set up i have read about, I bought the 68 trim and clips with screws to put on car, My question is...
I have 20 clips, so i am assuming 7 on top and 7 on bottom, and 3 on ea side trim.
Any one have the measurments as to where to put the clips? I could guess and prob be close but if anyone actually has the measurments on the placement of them, i would be forever greatful.
I was going to stick with the 67 set up with the plastic pieces but they dont seem to be aval anymore, and besides, what a pain in the arse.
Lol
So going to the 68 sounds like a much better idea. and no platsic.:D
Any help would be just awsesome.. Thanks in advance
Alan :headbang:

68 taillights won't fit your 67 because if the way that the inner part of the taillights are made in accordance to the body

don't over think the clip placement 2 or 3 inches from the corners and the top middle where the upper comes together and inch or two outside that one more in the middle of them and 4 or 5 in the bottom.

Huh?

Going from a 67 to a 68 is a mainly bolt in system minus drilling the holes for the side markers and the rear taillight buckets needing modified

Yes I have done a lot of them. And sorry I was referring to the windshield trim (reveal molding) clip placement. The upper molding is two piece about two inches from the corners left and right and about and inch or so outside of where they meet in the middle.
A-pillar about and inch or two from corner, same for bottom then fill in middle gaps. Like this:

Ohh thank you, this is what i was looking for, much appriciated :)

Also id there any tricks to removing the glass with out cutting the seal?
its in pretty good shape, dunno if i could sell it or not, and really dont want to break the glass, Car is in a cold garage and ive been playing with pulling back the efges of seal to see if i can get any kind of movement.
Again thanks for all of the responces
:)

Alan,

If not hard as a brick, you would probably need to get the gasket heated up (heat gun) to make it flexible, and then slowly work the glass out. It probably will take two people. One to pull the seals lip back while the other pushes the glass out.

Honestly, they do repop the 67 front gasket now. I'd just cut it out. Not sure the 30-50 you might get for it after is worth the possibility of breaking the glass and the time and effort trying to save it.

Yes i agree, sounds like too much work, I have enough work to do on the car already, Lol Ill take the easy way out this time, as it doesnt come too often
Thanks again Rocky_JS :D

Here's a diagram with dimensions, and a photo showing a clip in position.

Tho i only got 20 clips and screws, but i can make them work. and u answered my next question of location of the screws from outer edge,
Only want to drill holes once, lol
You wouldnt happen to know the drill bit size i need do you? or anyone? i got the screw and clip set, the im guessing is standard with the tip covered in glue or what ever it is. to seal them.
Thanks again FABO ROCKS!!

1/8th inch drill bit if you have the proper screws. yeah the sealer on the the tip is to seal the drilled hole. I do recommend being safe and after drilling the holes dab some paint in them.

On 3 sides you can set the clip as deep as it goes and mark the holes. The only side where there isn't a shoulder the set to is the bottom. There are only 4 little fingers that hold the gasket. I made a tape line along those fingers and set the bottom of the clip to the line and marked the holes. Worked fine.

Cool thank you for that info, and i will do on the painting the holes. :)

Ok, not sure i totally understand this, So the top and both sides i just put the clip all the way down and mark hole? and what about the bottom ones? and am i right about i have to install these before i have the glass installed? Thank you for all your help :)

Yes, all clips have to be installed before the glass goes in. The clip will seat against the bottom of the frame on the a-pillars and the top crown. The lip for the bottom clips is deeper so you will need to look at the other clips to see how close they are to the outer lip and mark the bottom ones the same so the molding can grab on to them.
If you still don't understand it will be crystal clear when you go to do it.

Another thing I plan to do, Redfish and others have pointed this out, is to reverse the dash frame clips so you can install the dash bolts from UNDER the dash without removing the windshield. You have to use shorter bolts than factory
