The ford is a better choice since it uses a rear bearing on the pinion so it's supported both front and rear, keeping things where they need to be. Also the price is a consideration.
Good thing the Ford has a rear pinion bearing. If it didn't it'd snap the pinion off pretty easy with it's puny pinion shaft diameter and low mounting position that puts more strain on the pinion
