8.75 Vs. 9" // Moser Vs. Strange

Good thing the Ford has a rear pinion bearing. If it didn't it'd snap the pinion off pretty easy with it's puny pinion shaft diameter and low mounting position that puts more strain on the pinion

True, however strange is rating this for 2,000hp and as wel know there are many very fast cars using the 9".

Roccodart just curious about your statement about the Dana. Don't like them, or is it a price issue?

No gear swap ability. No quick servicability.

If you do go 9" don't forget there's also Currie's to check prices with.

Thanks, i'll look into this.

I am a big fan of the 8.75. It's strong and it's Mopar. Either brand will suffice.

I've always liked the 8.75 and i've never had one suffer catastrophic failure. Moser is telling me the weak link will be the gears in the 8.75.

How fast is it you plan on running?
How much power is the engine making?
How heavy is the car?

10's, maybe 9's on spray.

Engine right now makes 500hp. After current mods (Laroy porting and roller cam) i'm told it should make 650hp. Add 200hp of spray. Spray won't be a ragular thing. Just for street racing and to get a WOW timeslip.

8 3/4 survived behind the hemi

Which in stock trim wasn't very impressive. Rated 425hp. My father (60) used to have a 69 440 R/T back in the early 70's as well as a goat. The bone stock hemi's apparently werent' the god of all engines many think of them to be.

There is a big difference in streetablilty between the Locker and the TruTrac. The TruTrac will help hard cornering the Locker might bring the rear end around.

My car takes 30 MPH turns at 25...lol. Not really a concern, however if I ever go in a different direction the tru-trac gives me some flexability.
