In my duster I replaced a 6 cyl with a 360 engine and trans from a 2 wheel drive ramcharger, the ramcharger drive shaft fits, the front of the driveshaft goes in 4" into the trans is that enough?
Thanks

I would check it loaded as well, you don't want that yoke pushed too far in.

I would think 4" is plenty with it hanging.

The trans is a 727

Oh sweet, well hopefully it still works with a loaded suspension. I'm doing a 904 to 727 swap also so I'm in the market for a driveshaft. If that ramcharger driveahaft works with the suspension loaded then I'll be searching the yards for an old ramcharger!

I'll let you know

Ideally...3/4 inch play at max compression, ie most parallel state (closest the rear comes to the output shaft) thats from a driveshaft measurement procedure.

In reference to the driveshaft, conversion from the 904 to the 727, does the entire driveshaft need to be swapped out or is it possible to just exchange the 904 slip yoke with a 727 slip yoke? Is it recommended to follow this method or is it recommended to swap out the entire shaft? Thanks!

The shaft will need to be shortened with the 727 and use the 727 slip, if all you're doing is changing the trans and no significant motor changes then you should be ok

Thanks Super shaft. When I picked up the 727, the seller did give me the slip yoke but not the shaft. I will have to transplant that yoke to my current shaft and shorten it. Thanks again!
