sending unit to gas tank

Be sure to use some type of lubricant on the sending unit seal. I use a little kiss of white lithium grease on both sides. If you don't it will most likely leak. On the gas tank pad, I spread mine out before install and spray the contact side with 3M Glue and let it tack up before install. This way it stays put with no worries. The pad's usually come rolled up and you will have a hard time keeping it in its place on install if not.

Yah, the pad is rolled up. It was a nice suprise on getting it. Jim said nothig about it just the sending unit:cheers:He must have known i needed it..LOL.Being in Ontario canada i think i will at least paint the tank. Im not driving it in the winter but with the amount of sand and salt on these roads linger around late spring. Thanks for all the input
