I've been interested in this build since I came across the thread. Now I'm really excited. Only problem though is that I hate having to follow builds in progress. So much easier and gratifying to read the whole build after its done... SO, can we fast forward yet? LOL

Rick, I did a search on the MA5 after you posted the pics. Sounds like it is better (except in gear ratios) than the Supra R154 trans. I've been looking for one of them for years to use with the Dakota bellhousing without finding a good affordable unit. Now I'd say my problem is solved.

The first question that comes to mind with the engine mounts you're making is where will the shifter be located? Too far forward, too far back, or JUST right! Is the engine in the same place as the pics of it in the car, or is that being adjusted.

What are your plans for running the 2.4? MegaSquirt / MSD, or what...

I've been collecting parts to begin mocking up a 3.9l / A500 combo for my daughter's '62, but this is very enticing. Certainly easier to package than the 3.9. I'd prefer a clutck myself, but it is her car.
