360 help please

G'day everyone,

I need some advice on what to do with the 360 in my VIP but first let me give you the run down on how I got here in the first place.

I purchased my VIP from Vitoria and had it transported to WA (I have a strong feeling that the transport company flogged the guts out of it), after rebuilding the front suspension I was driving to get a wheel alignment when the transmission let go, revs went through the rooff and I bent a pushrod.

So I replace the transmission and pushrods, started it up and had a @#$%*! rattle that seemed to be coming from #1. Taking the plug lead off made no difference to the noise, I then took out the pushrods for #1 and the noise was gone......trashed lifter? Removed the inlet manifold to have a look at the lifter and it seemed to look OK (although the cam lobe for #2 doesn't look so hot - see pic below). SO off with the head....It looks like the piston is hitting the head, what do you think.

So the big question is do I pull the engine and give it a bit of a refresh? head says yes, wallet (and wife) say no!

Scored bore on #77
