I am thinking about contacting some of the people he has bought or sold items from on ebay to see if they will part with any information about him.

Sorry I am NOT going there. I just don't want to deal with him nothing more. There are enough wack jobs out there and he could be one of them. If you had his name,it's a small world and I would let others know about his dealings and maybe he would do the right thing and refund you or send the parts. I outed a guy who ripped me off and got my money back in less than 24hrs it was no where near $400 but just the principle.
